Barcode Size Changes in Design Mode

When using one of the Barcode Components, an issue may appear that the barcode size changes in design mode or the size is not accurately displayed. This issue is applicable to all barcode components such as the ActiveX Control in addition to applications including the Barcode Label Software.

Solution(s):

When in design mode, the software will try to form the barcode to match the requirements of the screen, which is usually 96dpi. When in print preview mode, the software will try to form the barcode to match the requirements of the printer. Because of the difference between screen and printer resolutions, the barcode may appear to be a different size. When printed with a high resolution printer 600dpi or greater, the sizes should be accurate to the properties specified within .1mm of the printer resolution. However, a 203dpi printer may produce a significantly larger or smaller symbol. This issue is by design to ensure that barcodes are created properly when printed.
