Configuration instructions for PJA libraries on a Solaris 8 box running WebLogic 8.1

This issue applies to IDAutomation’s Java Barcode Class Libraries, Applets and Servlets.

Solution(s):

The instructions for running WebLogic 8.1 on a Solaris 8 machine using JDK 1.4.1 were provided by one of IDAutomation’s customers and are specific to their use. The examples may be slightly different from other application configurations. IDAutomation does not provide support for WebLogic, Solaris, Java development, or PJA development. Please consult the application’s documentation to configure the application environment.

  • Go to the WebLogic server to be configured.
  • Using the WebLogic console, Click on the Conguration-RemoteStart Tab.
  • Place the following in Arguments box for starting the server: -Xbootclasspath/a:/home/weblogic/fwebapp/WEB-INF/lib/pja.jar -Duser.home=/home/weblogic/pja_2.5 -Dawt.toolkit=com.eteks.awt.PJAToolkit -Djava.awt.graphicsenv=com.eteks.java2d.PJAGraphicsEnvironment -Djava.awt.fonts=/opt/app/weblogic/jdk141_05/jre/lib/fonts:/usr/openwin/lib
    /X11/fonts/TrueType -Duser.language=en -Djava2d.font.usePlatformFont=false
    NOTE:  The paths above may be different based on configuration.
  • Restart the server.
